My first major experience in graphic design was creating a branding guide for my own restaurant Cusbah. I began first by redesigning the logo. I chose a gold and teal color scheme, a henna type of circular design and the font Cochin which I felt had a more ethnic feel. By using these elements and fleshing out further color codes and fonts I was able to build out a full branding guide and then began redesigning all of our materials; our website, menus, business cards, t-shirts and most everything in between. Having uniform branding provided the restaurant a much more polished look.
